Us Weekly‘s March 3 2014 issue features news about the upcoming fantasy suite disaster on The Bachelor.
From the print issue:
On the heels of frontrunner Sharleen Joynt’s dramatic February 17 exit, yet another woman dumps Juan Pablo Galavis. Following a disastrous night in the fantasy suite on the February 25 episode the woman–either pediatric nurse Nikki Ferrell, 26; hairstylist Clare Crawley, 32; single mom Renee Oteri, 32 or lawyer Andi Dorfman, 26 – declares Galavis a “jerk” and quits the show. A show source says, “Juan Pablo represents himself as something different than what he is. He wants people to think he’s this sad single guy looking to get married and have more kids, but really, he’s all about himself. This woman finally figures him out.”
On the episode, taped last November the beauty arrives at The Bachelor‘s final destination: St. Lucia. After playing soccer on the beach, sharing a picnic near a waterfall, Galavis and the woman spend the night as a couple in the fantasy suite. Inside the beachfront villa at the Landings St. Lucia resort, “she sleeps with Juan Pablo, and they stay up the rest of the night talking.”
With the cameras off, the source says, Galavis dishes about his earlier fantasy suite date with another finalist, much to this woman’s disgust. He even lets it slip that he nearly eliminated her at the previous rose ceremony. “It was very close and you almost got sent home,” Galavis tells her.
For the woman who put her life and job on hold for two months in hopes of finding her soulmate, the revelation is a bitter one. Though she keeps her emotions in check in front of Galavis, she flees when the sun comes up. “I could not wait to get out of the fantasy suite,” she says in an on-camera interview, according to the show source. The woman continues: “I would describe his behavior as immature, rude, inappropriate. All of it together was a disaster…”
Two days after their rendezvous the woman requests to speak with Galavis in person and they meet for a 45-minute conversation. She unloads on him for boasting about his other overnight date and making that dig about the fact that she received a rose by default. Says the source, “She tells him there’s a difference between being honest and being an a–hole.” Don’t expect a dramatic return. When she leaves St. Lucia, the woman “has no regrets” says the source. “Juan Pablo cares more about himself than the women,” says the source. “But he knows how to turn on the charm and these woman fell for it hook, line, and sinker.”
The Bachelor airs February 24 & 25 at 8/7c on ABC.
